It is much more beautiful in person and is weatherproofed for outdoor use and safety in many ways, from the insulated cord, to the bulb with a special glass cover over it, to the on/off switch which is rubberized , to the shade which is stretched fabric and can be removed and cleaned , to the heavy weight of the base to keep it from blowing over. The on/off switch has two settings that give off such a pretty light. We put this lamp in the center of our outdoor table under cover (roof overhang) and it looks so beautiful turned on in the evenings. Best decorative patio purchase I've made. It is so attractive, I've already decided to bring it in for winter and put it on my granite kitchen island. Love this.
