(More customer reviews)I bought this lamp as a photo prop, and now it's in my living room. I honestly didn't expect to "like" it at all, but I fell in love with it. If you like lava lamps, or ocean lamps, or motion lamps, you'll love this glitter lamp. Because the glass portion is so long, the reflections fill the room, giving it lovely underwater feel. And what can I say but, sparkly things are neat (tee-hee-hee). It does seem to be filled with the same viscous liquid as a traditional lava lamp, so I would suggest, as with any such lamp, to give it a "rest" everyday and not run it continuously (and it looks best at night anyway). It is tall and heavy, and the top is made of glass, while the bottom is made of something thinner and lighter (resin or metal, I'm not sure), so I would not put it in a child's room or a place where a dog or child could easily knock it over. It does seem to be quite stable (I had to move it around quite a bit for the photos), but again, the top is made of glass and filled with liquid, while the base is made of a less dense material, the parts fitting together snuggly. I wouldn't suggest moving it from the base, but instead holding onto the glass and base at the same time (though NOT while ON like I had to). I only mention this because I read somewhere else where someone thought it to be unstable and dangerous. I disagree as long as reasonable measures are taken to consider the physics of the object.
