(More customer reviews)I am piano professor whose uses the piano everyday. My students come in different sizes and so do their music scores. After the (desk) lamp I'd used for the piano broke, I thought that it was time to invest into something nicer, more convenient, and saves the space on the piano. After reading different reviews on this product from other websites and reviews on other models of House of Troy piano lamps, I decided that I would give it a try.
The lamp I received had a VERY wobbly head that it swings and rattles. When that might have been just for that particular item, the lamp really would not work for me because of other reasons.
1. The "clam" part was too small to clip onto my music stand. (Mine is thicker.)
2. There is no height adjustment. The curve you see on the picture here is NOT for adjusting. Therefore, if you have a shorter music stand, (which my Mason & Hamlin does,) or if you have a bigger (taller) music score, it would not fit under the light. Even if it does, you would have trouble turning pages.
While it is not cheap to begin with, it is a shame for Amazon to carry such a lousy product at such a steep price. So after coming out of the box for five minutes, the lamp went right back in and is heading back to Amazon, at their cost.
