(More customer reviews)Based on the pictures, I bought the beige shade over the white. I'm glad I went this route, because I think the beige adds texture and contrast, compared to plain ol' white. Installation is straightforward and the materials are quality. Though many have complained that the diffuser doesn't cover the entire opening, I think the diffuser looks better this way, with a bit of a gap around the edges. Too bad it did not come with another extension rod, as I would have liked to hang the light six inches lower (it's still fine, but doesn't work as well with my loft ceiling). Though no fault of the product, my only regret is that I wish I had ordered a larger drum; a 20" or 22" drum would have looked even better over my table.
