We needed a light in the space but didn't want to have to worry about installing an outlet of any kind (old plaster). So I ran this to the floor and hid the wire in the floor trim. It looks amazing and is easy to walk in and turn on without anything hanging from the ceiling.
Truly well made light and worked great for our needs.
